Elections Ontario’s (EO) voter registration portal closed on August 12, 2026 to provide time for EO to prepare the Preliminary List of Electors for distribution to Ontario municipalities in accordance with the Municipal Elections Act. Revisions to the Voters’ List will not be available through Elections Ontario from August 13 to 31.

Beginning September 1, 2026, you can check whether you are on the Voters’ List and submit an Application to Amend the Voters’ List to update your information, add or remove your name, or request the removal of a deceased elector.
An Application to Amend the Voters’ List may be submitted one of the following ways:
  • Online, by the elector, through the Voters’ List Portal
  • In Person, by the elector, at:
    • the Corporate Services Counter, Town Hall, until on October 26, 2026 during regular business hours, or until 8 p.m. on Election Day (October 26, 2026)
    • any Voter Assistance Centre during their hours of operation between October 22 and October 26

All eligible voters who are on the Voters’ List will receive a Voter Information Letter in early October containing all the information they need to cast their ballot.

School Board Support Designation

School support designation helps property owners and tenants identify which school board they wish to support in a school board election and appropriately allocate school support funding to the board of choice. As per legislation, your school support defaults to the English Public school board. The Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) manages school support designations. The deadline to review and update your school support designation through MPAC for the 2026 Municipal Election was. June 1, 2026.

You can still update your school support designation with the Town from September 1, 2026, until Voting Day, October 26, 2026, by submitting the prescribed Application to Amend Voters’ List form. Please note that changing your school support for the Municipal Election will not affect that change with MPAC. In order to change your school support for your property, you must make this change directly with MPAC.
